Provenza Floors is another California-based flooring brand we are reviewing that has built its reputation and has been gaining popularity. Known for their style which pleases many architects, Provenza flooring specializes in unique hardwood flooring as well as waterproof vinyl plank flooring. In this Review, we are have analyzed all key aspects of the brand including Style, Durability, Pricing, Provenza Flooring Reviews, and more.
As mentioned before Provenza specializes mainly in Hardwood and Vinyl Plank flooring however it also offers Painted Hardwood and Floorcare products.
The Provenza Floors Engineered Hardwood range is something we did not expect, we were simply stunned by the unique wow-worthy designs derived from natural wood species. The brand definitely didn’t disappoint in terms of style. Provenza follows a rule that makes sure each and every plank is unique and no two planks will ever look the same.
Provenza hardwood is finished with polyurethane or oil which means that technically you can refinish the floor in the future.
Not only that, their hardwood range is very large and consists of over 20 unique hardwood collections with something for everyone.
The Provenza Hardwood collections are:
|Affinity||Heirloom||Modern Rustic||Palais Royal||Studio Moderno||Beacon Pointe|
|African Plains||Herringbone Reserve||New York Loft||Palazzo||Tresor||Lighthouse Cove|
|Antico||Iconic Edge||Old World||Pompeii||Vitali||Dutch Master|
These collections make up a total of over 280 different products. Provenza Floors uses 8 different wood species to make their flooring. These include; Acaccia, Ash, Elm, Hevea, Hickory, Maple, Oak, and Walnut. Provenza also offers stunning herringbone and parquet hardwood flooring which is a bonus.
What makes Provenza stand out is the unique finish styles their hardwood is available in. Consumers can choose from a variety of styles these include; Hand Distressed, Hand Scraped, Hand Stained, Herringbone, Character, Rustic, Parquet, Painted, and Wirebrushed.
Provenza hardwood thickness ranges from 12mm to 18mm thick or 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick depending on the line you choose. This is pretty standard for Hardwood flooring, generally speaking, the thicker the plank the longer the floor will last. Provenza Hardwood comes with a Lifetime Residential Warranty and a 25year finish warranty.
Apart from the beautiful hardwood, Provenza also offers their own waterproof vinyl plank flooring known as MaxCore LVP. MaxCore luxury vinyl planks have a rigid core and are available from 4 different collections; Concorde Oak, Moda Living, Stonescape, and Uptown Chick. These 4 collections make up 84 unique vinyl plank products in total.
The Concorde Oak collection features realistic hardwood looks and water-resistant performance meaning it can be installed in Kitchens and Bathrooms. The line has a pretty standard overall thickness of 6.5mm and a respectable 20 mil wear layer. The Planks of this collection are 7.2 inches wide and 72 inches long.
This line is probably the most durable Provenza Vinyl Plank line as it is also the thickest along with Uptown Chic. Moda Living also features hardwood-style designs but has a great overall thickness of 8mm and a good 20mil wear layer. The planks from this collection are 7.15 inches wide and 72 inches long.
Stonescape is different than the other 3 lvp collections. This line was created to mimic the look of stone and porcelain tiles. These planks are sized 12 by 24 inches so they are more like Vinyl Tiles. The collection basically looks like normal floor/ wall tiles but is much easier to install using their locking mechanism. The tiles are 6.5mm thick and have a 20mil wear layer.
Uptown Chic is another Provenza Vinyl Plank collection that features realistic hardwood designs in a wide range of trendy shades. The planks of this line have a great overall thickness of 8mm and a 20mil wear layer. The planks are 48 inches long and 7.2 inches wide.
All Provenza MaxCore LVP products are backed by a lifetime limited residential and 15-year commercial warranty.
All of the Provenza Vinyl Plank flooring collections come with pre-attached underlayment and can be installed using the floating (locking) method.
Another thing that impressed us was Provenza Painted Hardwood, specifically the designs featured in the Lighthouse Cove collection. This collection features designs that look like aged painted hardwood. The finish even includes areas where paint is scraped off. Provenza offers painted hardwood in five colors white, black, red, blue, and grey.
Provenza offers a complete line of care, cleaning, and maintenance products that are designed for Provenza flooring. The line includes;
- All Purpose Cleaner
- Natural Cleaner
- Oil Refresher
- Spot Remover
- Rejuviniting Oil
Provenza sells complete care kits that include several of these products, this might be something worth looking at if you are definitely buying Provenza Flooring.
Provenza Reviews Online
Reading up online reviews is key to finding a flooring product, it gives an insight into the customer experience. We analyzed the Provenza flooring reviews we could find online and overall they were not great.
The largest amount of Provenza flooring reviews can be found on a Houzz.com post which has over 300 comments. We found that many people complained about the brand’s durability claiming it didn’t last long. However, there were also people with no complaints.
Apart from that we also discovered that the brand is rated only 2.7 stars on womply.com and 1 star on yelp.com, although this is from a small number of reviews.
Overall, the Provenza flooring reviews are disappointing considering their amazing hardwood designs.
When looking at the durability aspects of engineered hardwood floors we mainly look at the overall thickness of the planks, the top layer, and the wood species. Provenza offers standard thickness engineered hardwood, it can be anywhere from 1/2 inch (12mm) to 3/4 inch (18mm) thick.
Generally speaking, we expect hardwood floors of an average thickness (15mm) to last at least 10years. After 10 years the floors can be refinished several times, the thicker the hardwood the more times it can be refinished. Some high-quality hardwood floors can last 50+ years when properly maintained. Provenza Floors hardwood is backed by a 25-year finish warranty.
As for Provenza Vinyl Plank, they are of above-average overall thickness (8mm) and have a respectable 20mil wear layer. Those are the two main specifications we look at when we compare vinyl planks, a 20mil wear is a must for high-quality planks.
We would expect these to last at least 5 years if properly maintained. Provenza Lvp isn’t as thick as some of the most durable vinyl plank brands such as Coretec or Cali Bamboo which are 12mm+ thick. However, Provenza LVP is thicker than brands such as ProCore, Home Decorators LVP, or Mohawk.
We found that the best website to find Provenza pricing is lumberjackdirect.com and this is where most of our information on Provenza pricing is sourced from.
|Provenza Hardwood Line||Overall Thickness||Price per Square foot||Wood Species|
|Lugano||14.2mm||$7.49 SFT||European Oak, Maple|
|Affinity||12.7mm||$6.49 SFT||European Oak|
|African Plains||14.2mm||$6.49 SFT||Hevea|
|New York Loft||15.8mm||Price Not Specified||White Oak|
|Tresor||15.8mm||$8.99 SFT||European Oak|
|Artefact||11.1mm||$5.20 SFT (SALE)||Maple|
The Provenza Floors vinyl plank range is averagely priced for the thickness of the planks they offer compared to other brands. Provenza Vinyl Plank thickness specifications are similar to those of Mannington or Armstrong, same goes for the price.
However, there is one brand that offers the same plank thickness but is much cheaper, that brand is NuCore.

The installation of Provenza hardwood is the same as most other Engineered Hardwood Flooring brands. It can be installed using 3 methods; floating, glue-down and staple. The floating method is by far the easiest, it involves locking the planks together and can be done by many DIYers. However, many flooring installers recommend gluing or stapling the floor down for long-lasting performance.

Care and Maintainance are Key to your LVP floor’s lifetime and performance. To ensure a long life for your LVP flooring follow these main tips;
- Clean your floors regurarly, at least once a week to remove any existing dirt particles that may cause scratching or staining.
- Do not use cleaning products such as multipurpose cleaner, bleach, vinegar, wax, oil, polish or other potentially harsh products.
- We don’t recommend that you use vacuums (especially with beater bars) on LVP floors as they can cause damage. Instead we recommend gentle sweeping or using a dust pad.
- Make sure to use the right cleaning solution for Vinyl Plank Floors. We recommend using Bona Pro Series luxury vinyl floor cleaner.
- It is recommended to attach Foam Pads under furniture legs, these can be found in most local DIY stores. Ask for furnture leg pads.For mopping we recommend using a Bona Pro Series Luxury Vinyl Planks Mop.Although some Vinyl Plank Brands allow it, we recommend not using steam mops.
- Any spills should be cleaned immediately.
- Use Rugs in high-traffic workstations such as near computer desks.
- Avoid walking on the floor in shoes. Wear socks.
- Use door matts to avoid bringing in dirt.
Our favorite laminate flooring mop is the Bona Spray Mop by far. We highly recommend it for all Hard-Surface floor types. It’s lightweight and doesn’t oversaturate your floor or require a water bucket.
If you’re after a vacuum, then we recommend the Eureka Elevate Cordless Vacuum. It’s our favorite choice, quite affordable, and doesn’t hurt hard-surface floors.
